Summer Program Kicks Off June 18

On June 18, we are going to make with the funny as Comedy City will be here to help kick off MPL's YA Summer Reading Program. We will open the doors to the Balkansky Room at 1:45 p.m., so you can get signed-in and get your free sub. The comedy gets underway at 2 p.m. and the improv professionals take over. Be prepared to laugh, shout ideas, and possibly be called on to help out in one of the skits.

Sign-up for the reading program actually starts on Tuesday, June 16 (the first day of summer vacation) so you can get on the list at any time by stopping by the Reference Desk. Attendance at any (and all) of the summer programs counts toward your reading hours. Those hours translate into prizes at the end of the program in our Karaoke & Auction Finale on July 28. Additionally, anyone who reads books from our Battle of the Books list earns double reading hours for those titles.

Keep an out out over the next few days as the entire summer schedule is revealed on this site(including a Twilight series book discussion).
